The Highest Corona Case in Indonesia Today Reaches 399 Positives!

The addition of positive patients infected with the corona virus (Covid-19) in Indonesia recorded the highest number of 399 cases on Sunday (12/4), since it was first announced on March 2 last.

“Data updates to date, there are an additional 399 cases, making it 4,241 cases,” said Government Spokesperson for handling Co-19, Achmad Yurianto, in his press statement at the BNPB Building in Jakarta, Sunday (12/4).

The corona positive case was first announced by President Joko Widodo and Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto at the State Palace, Jakarta on March 2 last. Since then, the number of cases continues to grow.

The government routinely provides information on the development of the number of people infected, cured, and those who have died. Other information about countermeasures also continues to be conveyed.

Based on records, in the first week or period March 9 – 9, there were 17 positive corona patients.

Then during the second week or March 10-16, corona positive patients increased by 115 people. While throughout the third week or 17-23 March, positive patients increased by 445 people.

Then, in the fourth week or March 24-30 there were 835 additional cases. In the period March 31-April 6, positive patients increased by 1,077 cases.

On 7 to 11 April positive patients increased by 1,351 cases.

In addition to the highest surge in positive cases, co-19 was also noted to have spread in 34 provinces in Indonesia. DKI Jakarta, is the province with the highest number of positive cases, followed by West Java, East Java and Banten.

In order to accelerate the handling of covid-19, the Regional Government (Pemda) was asked to submit the application of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in its area.

It is known, until now, PSBB has only been implemented in DKI Jakarta. Meanwhile, PSBBs in Bogor, Depok and Bekasi will take effect on Wednesday (15/4).

In the PSBB guideline, the government will restrict schools and workplaces, religious activities, activities in public places or facilities. Then, social and cultural activities and modes of transportation.
