The government officially opened the registration of pre-employment cards for the first wave on Saturday (11/4). Registration will be open until Thursday (4/16) at 16.00 WIB.

The Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto explained the number of participants to be accepted in the first wave was 164 thousand people.

Then, participants who were not selected in the initial selection can follow the second wave. However, prospective participants do not need to follow the process from the beginning.

That is, those who fail to enter the first wave can take part in the second wave without having to fill in their identity data again, as well as motivation and basic math tests.

Quoting the official website of prakerja.go.id, several requirements for participating in the pre-employment card program include prospective participants who are Indonesian citizens, at least 18 years old, and currently not pursuing formal education.

In this case, the government will verify the data of prospective participants first before deciding on the next step.

After the data provided by prospective participants is verified, potential participants will take a basic motivation and mathematics test.

This is done to find out the competencies and potential possessed by potential participants.

If they pass the selection, participants can choose the type of training they want and according to their respective competencies.

Here, participants can take online training as long as the spread of the corona virus is still widespread in Indonesia.

The government collaborates with several digital platforms, such as Tokopedia, Teacher’s Room, What You Want to Learn, Bukalapak, Pintaria, Your School, and Incandescent. Meanwhile, payments can be made through BNI, OVO, Gopay, and Link Aja.

In this case, each participant will receive a total training assistance incentive of Rp. 3.55 million.

The fund consists of training costs of Rp1 million, post-training incentives of Rp600 thousand per month for four months, and survey incentives of Rp50 thousand for three times.

If participants do not attend the first training, their status as participants in the pre-employment card program will immediately be forfeited and will not get the incentives promised by the government.

The government provides a call center if there are prospective participants who have difficulty registering and using the facilities in the pre-employment card program.

The public can contact the call center at 021-25541246 and e-mail at info@prakerja.go.id. This service is open every Monday-Friday from 08.00-19.00 WIB.

For information, the government will distribute pre-employment cards to 5.6 million people affected by layoffs (PHK) and informal workers whose income is depressed due to the spread of the corona virus.

The pre-employment card program is a campaign promise of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the 2019 Presidential Election.

Initially, the government targeted the pre-employment card to be launched in early March 2020, but it was delayed.
