Quoted from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

Enoki withdrawn from circulation is imported from Korea and distributed by H&C Food Inc. (Green, Co.), Guans Mushroom Co., and Sun Hong Foods Inc., while those in Canada are withdrawn from circulation from Goldenway International Trade, Co. In Australia enoki from Korea, Green Co.
It is not recommended to consume Enoki mushrooms that have been withdrawn from circulation. (Imported Korea) which Indonesia was destroyed which one? Unfortunately, I don’t know and it’s not mentioned. Already searched not found too.

What is the danger of Listeria monocytogenes? He’s an acid-resistant and salt-resistant bacterium. If we consume large amounts of the bacteria while alive, then they can survive in the digestive tract, releasing toxins that increase virulence.

Healthy people may have mild symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, headaches, muscle aches, but listeriosis can be fatal for pregnant women, seniors, diabetics, cancer especially leukemia, PLHAs, asthma and people whose immune systems are suppressed.

Severe listeriosis is sepsis, meningitis, encephalitis and even death

The death rate of 20-30% is enough to make the CDC implement zero tolerance for the presence of Listeria.
Listeria will die by warming 75 ° C, so it is important to cook until cooked. However, what needs to be considered is the possibility of cross contamination during processing.

Because these bacteria can continue to grow at 4 ° C (refrigerator temperature), if the amount is very large, when we wash, cut, hold it, allowing contamination to the kitchen surface, washing tap, cooking utensils, knives, cutting boards that cause contamination to prepared food serving.
Other sources of listeria are raw milk, pasteurized milk, cheese (especially soft cheese made from unpasteurized milk), ice cream from unpasteurized milk, raw vegetables, sausages from fermented raw meat, meat raw poultry, all kinds of raw meat, and raw fish or smoked fish.

For prevention, there are several preventative steps to avoid Listeria bacterial infection, namely:

  1. Rinse raw materials with running water, such as fruits and vegetables, before eating, cut or cooked. Even if the results have been peeled, they must be washed first;
  2. Rub agricultural products, such as melons and cucumbers, using a clean brush before storing, and dry the product with a clean cloth or paper;
  3. Separate raw meat and poultry from vegetables, cooked foods, and prepared foods;
  4. Wash cooking utensils, in the form of tools or cutting pads, which have been used for raw meat, poultry, animal products before use in other food products; and
  5. Wash your hands with soap before processing food, and when going to eat.
